In 1774 the people of Taunton, Massachusetts wanted a way to voice their dissatisfaction with Mother England. So Taunton became the first in the American colonies to raise a flag in opposition to British rule; a flag that touted the words, "Liberty & Union", thus propelling our nation into the Revolutionary War.

The Liberty & Union Ale House will be both a reminder of that great spirit that drove Colonial Tauntonians to proclaim their independence and provide Good ol' Down-Home Cooking paired with exceptional local brews.
