Happy Lunar New Year to all our lovely PT Noodles customers in Surprise. Since I have received many questions about the Lunar new year (or Vietnamese new year) from our lovely customers, I'll write some facts about The Lunar New Year in Viet Nam. 1/ Generally, the Lunar New Year is celebrated by the countries where use the Lunisolar calendar. In facts, the name is called by different names in different countries. In Viet Nam, the Lunar New Year is called TET. ( *Tip: To know how to speak that name correctly, you can come to PT Noodles and ask any server there. Then, It'll be just the piece of cake !) 2/ In general, TET "can be divided into three periods, known as Tất Niên (penultimate New Year's Eve), Giao Thừa (New Year's Eve), and Tân Niên (the New Year), representing the preparation before Tết, the eve of Tết, and the days of and following Tết, respectively" (according to wikipedia about TET holiday) The Vietnamese basically will spend time on eating and playing with their friends and family on these days. Also, they will give the best wishes to one another. (That's the reason why the customers who come to PT Noodles these days might receive the best wishes from our team) 3/ Especially, the Vietnamese will cook their traditional food in TET holiday . For instance, "Bánh Tét", "Bánh Chưng" ( Sticky Rice cake) and " Hột vịt thịt kho" (the hot steam Pork and Egg) (*Tip: Are you curious how people actually cook these food ? come to PT Noodles. You can not only enjoy the food but also watch how Vietnamese cook it - by the game show "King of food") 4/ In the beginning of the Lunar new year, according to many Asian countries, eating the noodles ( especially the yellow noodles) will bring to you guys a long and happy life! ( Because the noodles is long and the yellow color is the good luck color) That is some facts about the Vietnamese New Year (TET holiday). However, our staffs are always ready to share with you more funny stories and interested facts if you come and ask us!
