Why You Shouldn't Buy Your Wife or Girlfriend a Gun - The Truth About Guns

Strongly suggest this gets read. A few weeks ago very nice young lady comes into gun store looking for a firearm, states that she has little experience, looking for something to carry for protection on her job at night. Boyfriend told her to buy a 9 mm. We strongly suggest that she goes to somewhere like Smoking Gun Indoor and try a few. She said that she has friends that are military and have offered to teach her. We show her the 9's we have in stock. After we show her a number of firearms, young lady decides to purchase the Ruger 22. Fits her hand, inexpensive to shoot, great firearm to learn on and will still get the job done. Today, a guy, we think is the boyfriend, comes in to gun store with an attitude, tells us that we are stupid and that we should never have sold her the 22 for a defensive firearm. States that we forced her to buy this particular gun. Now claims that the Ruger is broken. Also states that he is going to spread it all over town and social media that we don't know anything about firearms. First of all, anyone who knows Justin, knows he doesn't force anyone to do anything. Second of all, if she wasn't happy with the purchase she should have brought back the firearm immediately, we would have worked with her. And yes, the boyfriend couldn't have been more than 25 years old. All we can say is WOW ....
