Staunton is a member of Virginia First Cities, a coalition of 13 sister cities that advocates for better policies and increased support from the state. Councilman Walt Obenschain and City Manager Steve Owen represent Staunton on the Virginia First Cities board of directors. On Friday, they joined other city leaders to discuss community wealth building and the state’s fiscal and policy outlook.
