Upper School Robotics Chalks Up Another Win! Team Mecha Panteras won the coveted Innovation Award during the weekend’s regional FIRST Tech Competition (FTC) in St. Louis. The judges were particularly impressed with the engineering design of the robot, which could climb up the course with independent traction, and the fact that the students constructed their robot on their own, without the involvement of mentors. Well done to juniors Stuart Demarkles, John Woodall, Cameron Wood, and Marshall Fielding! Marshall was also nominated as a semi-finalist for the FIRST Dean’s list and was the only student chosen at this regional qualifier to advance to the FIRST Dean’s List Finals at the State Championship rounds in March.
