Description
Spearfish Canyon -- Black Hills -- South Dakota Spearfish Canyon is one of the oldest and most miraculous canyons in the United States. Located in the northern Black Hills of South Dakota, the canyon stretches for nearly 20 miles along a scenic byway. Less than a mile wide, the canyon is always ‘close and upward’ dwarfing the one-million annual visitors who come to enjoy it.

Senate Bill 114 has been filed in Pierre, in relation to Spearfish Canyon. It pretty clearly states that its intent is to create a state park, not just simply for a land exchange-only, as some of the public messaging has been trying to indicate recently. The "emergency" verbiage - at the end of the bill - is interesting.
