I just had a 17 year old filling on my front tooth randomly fall out and Dr Wells was able to see me last minute and fix it. I can't thank them enough for all they have done for me. I think finding the right dent... - by Alex J. I think finding the right dentist is extremely important, kind of like finding the right mechanic. No one really wants to go to the dentist. It can be an uncomfortable and, sometimes, painful experience. You don't want just anyone poking around in your mouth, and you want to feel confident that the work being done is high quality and also necessary. I've been coming to Jordan River Dental for a few years now, and feel like it's time to tell the world what I think. Starting with the place itself, the building is nice both inside and out. The atmosphere in the waiting area is comfortable and relaxed. There is a fire place, a fish tank, comfortable chairs and couches, lots of reading material, and a little area specifically for kids to wait. The areas in the back where you get cleanings and other work done are also comfortable and well maintained. The place is also extremely clean. The staff are all very friendly from the administrative staff, to the dental assistance, to the dentist. I see John Miller. There are other dentists, but I don't have any experience with them. Each area has a large flat screen TV monitor where you can instantly see x-rays, which I think is rather cool. The chairs are average for dentist chairs as far as comfort. Right now, because I have braces, the dental hygienists always use a water type instrument to clean my teeth and it goes much faster than with the traditional instruments. They also have a wide variety of flavors in the fluoride foam, so you can get a cheesecake flavored fluoride foam instead of just boring mint or something. John Miller is very knowledgeable and cares about the people who sit in his chair. I don't feel like he recommends work that doesn't actually need to be done. I also appreciate that he made time for me the same day to fill a cavity when I'd come in to do a cleaning before having surgery on both of my jaw bones. I'd wanted to make sure everything was clean before having my teeth stuck together for weeks on end and not being able to clean properly. He saw that I had a cavity and fit me in to get it taken care of so that I wouldn't have an unfilled cavity exposed while I was unable to clean that area. Any negatives I've experienced are pretty minor and things that can happen anywhere, like miscommunication about appointments, or a couple of times when I first started coming to this business I felt like the administration staff was kind of short with me and judgmental, so I felt a little awkward and almost didn't come back. It's one of those first impression type of things. But I'm glad that I did because overall my experience has been very positive. I have recommended Jordan River Dental to others because while none of us want to go to the dentist, we all need to, so it's important to find the right place.
