High temperatures are expected this week and staff will be taking steps to ensure that our residents have a cool place to go and get out of the heat. The South Gate Sports Center and Senior Center will be open late to accommodate people that need to cool off. The beautiful tree canopy at South Gate Park provides acres of shady places to sit and enjoy. Temperatures under our trees are often 10 - 15 degrees cooler than in the direct sun.
This Week in South Gate we want to make sure you and your family are prepared for the next earthquake or major emergency.

Rebates through Central Basin are available to South Gate water customers for several outdoor and indoor water conservation devices such as: • High efficiency clothes washer • Premium high efficiency toilet • Weather based irrigation controller • Soil moisture sensor system • Rotating sprinkler nozzles • Rain barrel and cistern The City encourages residents to take advantage of the additional savings.
