Kids created art using aluminum-tooling foil during Art4Fun this week under the guidance of local artist Mary Tooley. Join Mary for our next workshop on Dec. 20 (www.meadpl.org/art4fun-13).
More than 800 years ago, a skilled carver crafted a set of elaborate Viking chess pieces from walrus tusks and whale teeth. This week, library visitors learned how to print replicas on our 3D printer, with expert guidance from Kevin Anderson. We’ll have the full set on display very soon, or see the originals (called the Lewis Chessmen) at the British Museum in London.
