Happy Thursday! It's been a bit chaotic at The Biscuit, getting Jeni & Billy from NC to the British Isles, but the flight is behind them, the rental car is now loaded, Billy is remembering how to drive on the proper side of the road, and they're learning once again to be Jolly Waggoners.

It is with great regret that we write to inform you that The Seven Lakes Times will be suspending publication for at least a month and likely significantly longer. As you know, if you are a loyal Times reader, we are a Mom & Pop operation, with Greg and Marcy Hankins handling ninety percent of the workload. After some periodic episodes of illness, Greg has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. This s a serious and fast-moving form of leukemia that will require at least a month of high intensity chemotherapy at Duke University Medical Center. It may be followed by a bone marrow transplant, for which recovery could easily take a year. Marcy and I have been honored to serve this community for twenty years, and The Times has been honored to serve it for thirty. We hope to be back. But that is in the hands of our expert physicians, and of fate. We have grown to love Seven Lakes, Foxfire, and West End -- and hope we will have the opportunity to serve this community in the future. - Greg and Marcy
