The City of Seaford is participating in the social media format – Facebook - to reach a broader audience, quickly disseminate information and interact with residents. Comments on the City of Seaford official page are monitored and will be responded to during normal business hours (M-F 8am-5pm), during City events and during emergencies effecting our citizens. As an online representative of our community, we host a variety of diverse opinions and ideas. Although online conversations on social media sites are often casual, they must remain respectful. We welcome this diversity, and ask that all of our participants adhere to these simple guidelines:
The following content is prohibited and subject to removal:
a. Comments unrelated to the particular post being commented upon;
b. Comments that promote, foster, or perpetuate discrimination on the basis of creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability or sexual orientation;
c. Comments containing vulgar, offensive, threatening, or harassing language, personal attacks, or unsupported accusations;
d. Obscene or sexually suggestive or explicit content or links to obscene or sexual content;
e. Illegal activity or encouragement of Illegal activity;
f. Information that may compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems;
g. Content that violates a legal ownership interest of any other party;
h. Comments with website, email or Internet links of any kind.
i. Content that incites violence.
j. Photographs or videos.
k. Personal information.
l. Spamming or repetitive content.
Persons posting prohibited content are subject to being barred from posting comments on the City's Facebook page.
Questions or Comments
When posting questions or comments, we ask that you do not give out personal information such as home or email addresses, telephone numbers, credit card numbers, social security numbers, passwords, etc. You may contact us directly by email at info@seafordde.com or phone 302.629.9173, at which time you may be asked for personal contact information. Formal requests for information must still be submitted through the City of Seaford FOIA portal on our website. The City of Seaford Facebook page is not intended to replace traditional forms of communication or the City’s website.

We will be lighting Gateway Park Blue and Gold for the weekend and our Mayor, Council Members and City Staff will be on the field tonight to welcome our very own Seaford Bluejays. We hope to see many members of our community at tonight’s game. Did you know Bluejays pride runs through our organization, 36 individuals, which is almost half of our employees, are proud Seaford Senior High School graduates! Go Jays!!!
Our city manager, Dolores Slatcher, was recognized by the Mayor and Council tonight for her 40 years of commitment and dedication to the City of Seaford. We thank her for all her hard work and service to our community.

We hope you will join us in Seaford Tonight for the annual Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Awareness Walk to “Turn Sussex Pink” and kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The community is invited to join Nanticoke Cancer Care Services and the City of Seaford at the Nanticoke Cancer Care Center beginning around 6:45 pm; the walk will step off from there at 7:15 pm. Those who can not make the walk are welcome to join us early in Gateway Park The walk will end with a ceremony at Gateway Park that will include opening remarks, a proclamation, a presentation from a featured speaker who is a cancer survivor and an inspirational performance by a soloist. COME DINE WITH US! As part of our Public Power Week Celebration, we wanted help a similar public power utility like us. Keys Energy Services, a public power utility in Florida, is working on rebuilding after the devastation from Irma. In a partnership with DEMEC and Texas Roadhouse - Seaford will be doing a fund raiser to assist them with their efforts. Show the Texas Roadhouse flyer below or a printed version to your server at Texas Roadhouse Thursday, October 5th from 4pm to 10 pm, and 10% of the total food purchases will go to our fundraiser benefiting Keys Energy Services in Key West Florida. Members of our Electric Department and Staff will be on hand that evening as well to share with you some of what we currently are working on.
Public Power Week begins on October 1st. As part of this week long celebration, we are kicking it off with a morning of customer appreciation. Customers are invited to stop by City Hall from 8am to 10am on Monday, October 2nd for free coffee and donuts. Members of our Electric Department will be in the lobby at City Hall to meet and thank our customers. We hope you will stop in and say hi!
