As part of Regional West Health Services, Regional West Medical Center provides comprehensive and innovative health care services for the people and communities of western Nebraska and the neighboring states of Wyoming, Colorado, and South Dakota. Regional West Health Services in Scottsbluff, Neb., is the parent company of Regional West Medical Center, a 182-bed regional referral center and one of three Level II Trauma Centers in the state. The trauma program includes Air Link air ambulance services, which is fully accredited by The Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS).
As the region’s only tertiary referral medical center, Regional West offers care that spans more than 32 medical specialties provided by over 28 physician clinics. With nearly 300 providers, and over 2,000 employees, Regional West provides comprehensive and innovative health care services for the people of western Nebraska and the neighboring states of Colorado, South Dakota, and Wyoming.

Free Sports Physicals Night
All area athletes in grades 8 through 12 are invited to a free sports physicals night May 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Regional West Physicians Clinic-Family Medicine in Scottsbluff. The clinic is lcated in Medical Plaza South, Suite 1100. No appointment is necessary and students must be accompanied by a parent. Physicals are good for the 2017-2018 school year. Community Health will be onsite to review immunizations and vaccinate those who need booster shots. Prices will vary according to the type of immunization required. Payment may be made by cash or check, or insurance companies will be billed for those who bring their insurance card. Students with no insurance coverage will be eligible for the Vaccines for Children Program. No child will be turned away due to an inability to pay.

May is National Stroke Awareness Month, and it's important to understand stroke risk and how to act "FAST" to minimize the potential effects of stroke. If you think someone is having a stroke, look for: Facial weakness, Arm weakness, Speech problems, and be aware of Time. Other symptoms include: sudden numbness, confusion, vision changes, trouble walking, and severe headache. Time is crucial! Call 911 immediately!

Attention, area nursing professionals! The Nebraska Action Coalition and Nebraska Nurses Association will present three speakers for "Healthy Nurse, Healthy Community" during National Nurses Week on Tuesday, May 9 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and Wednesday, May 10 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. in the Regional West Education Center. This event qualifies for one hour of Continuing Nursing Education provided by the Midwest Multi-State Division, and snacks will be provided. Regional West employees can register for the event in SWANK, and nurses outside of Regional West can RSVP by emailing education@rwhs.org or calling 308-630-1112. The deadline to RSVP is May 2. Be a part of learning about your health and the health of your community as we celebrate National Nurses Week together!
