He is a graduate of Sandusky High School . He accepted Christ at an early age & united with the New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church of Sandusky, Ohio. Under the leadership of Pastor Eddy N. Henry.
Pastor Curtis was very active in the local assembly where he served in several capacities.
Upon graduation Pastor Curtis attended Owens CC in Toledo, Oh. While in Toledo he worshipped at The Body of Christ Fellowship. Sis. Peggy H. Moore inspired and challenged him to receive as much of God as he desired.
After trying to avoid the call into gospel ministry for over a decade Pastor Curtis publicly accepted the call in August 2003. Preaching his initial sermon on the 4 Sunday in December of the same year.
Desiring more formal training, he attended The Mt. Zion School of Ministry Grantville, Pa. for nearly two years. He also attended the Temple Theological Center where he received a diploma of Biblical Studies.
In 2005, he returned home and was assigned to help his father in the ministry Pastor Henry. Minister Johnson did so until his retirement in May of 2009. Under the leading of The Holy Spirit New Jerusalem called Pastor Johnson to serve as its third Pastor. He officially took the pulpit the 2 Sunday in November 2009 and continues to serve there faithfully.
Pastor J. is very active in the community. He is a member of the N.A.A.C.P., Sandusky
