Congratulations Jonathan Braun! At the Town Council meeting of Tuesday, December 13, Town resident Jonathan Braun was named 2016 San Anselmo Volunteer of the Year. Jonathan was instrumental in forming the San Anselmo Open Space Committee and has volunteered with the committee for over 30 years. Over the years, he has been actively involved in finding land to purchase as permanent open space for the community, including most recently the Sky Ranch purchase. Art Talk Tuesday! Read My Pins: The Madeleine Albright Collection Tuesday, December 13 12pm, Council Chambers A special exhibition at the Legion of Honor, on view November 19, 2016-January 29, 2017, assembles a remarkable range of more than 200 pins and brooches from the personal collection of Madeline Albright. Docent Clara Morrissey will showcase this eclectic collection, which represents nearly a century of jewelry design. The jewelry's true interest lies not in its materials or monetary value but in the roles it played during her political service: Albright used her pins as silent yet visually outspoken codes to foreign officials and the press.

San Anselmo Town Manager Appointment David Donery, San Anselmo’s Assistant Town Manager and Director of Community Services, will be considered for appointment as the next San Anselmo Town Manager at the Tuesday, December 13th meeting of the San Anselmo Town Council. He would replace Debra Stutsman who is retiring in February after 27 years with the Town. Donery was tapped by the Town Council after an extensive community survey was conducted eliciting responses from over 240 community members rating the top professional and personal traits most desired in the Town’s next manager. Donery has been with the Town since 2009, after spending 20 years with the City of San Rafael in a variety of positions, including Supervisor of the Pickleweed Park Community Center & Library. He started his recreation career in San Anselmo, however, in 1977 as a Counselor-in-Training at the summer camp at Robson Harrington Park. Donery grew up in San Anselmo, and lives in the town with his wife and two school-age children. Donery holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Recreation Administration from San Francisco State University. “We are pleased to have someone with Dave’s professional capabilities to take the reins as our Town Manager,” said Mayor Ford Greene. “It is a bonus that he is a resident who already knows and loves our town.” “I am humbled and honored to be considered for this position. San Anselmo is a wonderful town with an involved and engaged community,” said Donery. “I look forward to working with the Council, Town staff, residents and business owners to make our town the best it can be.” Donery’s base salary will be $181,092 and benefits commensurate with other Town management employees.
