The Center for Irish Music
Description
We are a non-profit community music school dedicated to handing down traditional Irish music to the next generation of musicians in our community. Together since 2004, and a 501c3 since 2008, The Center for Irish Music is more than a school, we are a community of artists dedicated to handing down traditional music and song to the next generation of musicians. We provide cultural education and context for the music. Through our activities the Center is invigorating the Twin Cities by providing access to an exciting music tradition that is rare and rich. We have made Minnesota a recognized destination for world renowned touring musicians-- and have some of those on our faculty as well. CIM is helping make Minnesota into a center for traditional music and Celtic cultural activity.
CIM is located in St. Paul, Minnesota in a thriving new arts center, the Celtic Junction! This community partner is home not only to CIM, but to Irish and Scottish dance schools, Irish language teachers and scholars, and much more.
