If you wake up and see your microwave is off by an hour (unless it's one of those new-fangled ones that connects to the internet), you should know that the time just changed, and we did the SPRING AHEAD part of Daylight Savings. We would like to take a moment and remind everyone that when you change your clocks, it's recommended to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Our friends at St Johnsbury Fire would appreciate it.
Update: The repair to the water main has been completed and the road is reopened. At this time, we have not been advised of any boil water notices. If your water runs brown, let it run for a bit and see if it clears up. --- A 6" water main on Pleasant St. is leaking. Public Works will begin repair at 10:30 this morning. There will be no water service in the area; this includes Pleasant St., Emerson St., Oak St., Jones St., School St., Stiles Ter., Orient St., Buzzell St., Dundee St., Nelson St., St. John St., Brunelle St., Centerview Ter., Bragg Ter., Suffolk St., Arlington Ter., Union St., Tremont St., Russell Ave., Southard St. and Memorial Dr.. Pleasant St. between St. John St. and Emerson St. will be closed to all traffic during the repair period. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Hugh Wescott at 751-9107. Please use caution on the roadways. The rain falling on the road has frozen and has made a very slick surface. St. Johnsbury Department of Public Works is out in force treating the roads.
