This morning in Chapel Kaci Cochran performed the solo that garnered her the top prize for percussion in the Vt.All State Music Festival Scholarship Competition. Kaci had to memorize a piece of music 5-7 minutes long and perform before a panel of judges. She along with the recipients in other categories (strings, voice, piano, brass, woodwinds) will be featured in a performance Thursday May 10th at this years festival in Essex.

As part of the National Kick Butts Day Campaign, Mr. Urie’s and Mr. Holden’s Health classes spent time with St. Johnsbury School’s fifth grade classes. During the first visit with the students they educated them about the dangers of tobacco and it’s products, and on the second visit they helped each student design and make a tee shirt depicting those dangers. The tee shirts are on display throughout our schools and our community.

Mr. Weiss and students in the Outing Club enjoyed once last weekend on the ice in Kinsman Notch on Sunday. Looks like fun!

Fundraisers for SJA Service Trip to India Please join the India 2018 travelers at the Hilltopper restaurant for an evening of Indian cuisine on March 30th. Reservations can be made by calling 748-8964. All proceeds go to Helping Hearts Creche. And then, work it off Saturday morning! Join us Saturday, March 31 for an hour of fun and fitness. Zumba Instructor Diego Melendez will lead us through an hour of fun at RecFit on Perkins Street. Wear bright clothes and be ready to dance, sweat, and smile! The money raised from this event goes directly to the Helping Hearts Creche to help support their mission of education, nutrition and love for children who need it the most in the village of Poryiar India.
