Please stay safe driving in this rainy weather! Remember: 1. Headlights on in the rain! It's the law, and it makes you more visible to other drivers. 2. SLOW DOWN and allow plenty of stopping distance between yourself and other vehicles. This is an especially bad time to tailgate. 3. Don't drive through flooded areas. It doesn't take much standing water to sweep a car away. 4. Keep an eye out for downed tree branches and other hazards. Visit our website for more storm safety tips: https://goo.gl/nDJtV7

Thank you to the residents of Country Villa Mobile Home Park for having the crew of Engine 3 to your potluck event on Saturday to talk about safety and for gifting our firefighters with the thin red line flag! The Engine 3 crew discussed with residents safety topic including Vials of Life, what to do in a case of a fire, what to do if your CO or smoke detector keeps alarming and when to call 911.
Today’s Union Pacific siren test was just one of the ways that members of our community could be alerted to a possible emergency affecting them from the railyard. We encourage all residents to take the time and sign up for Placer Alert, a regional mass notification system, that is operated in partnership with Sacramento, Yolo, and Placer Counties. Placer Alert would only be used by officials during an emergency to notify the community of incidents such as an at risk missing person, evacuations orders, shelter in place, or other life threatening emergencies. Sign ups are free and easy, and can be done at the link below.
Reminder! The Union Pacific Railroad siren testing is happening today at 12:00 p.m.
