Just another day in paradise 🌊
Still having some fun in the sun! These people don't mind our new rules which went into effect today stating that in deep water all must have some sort of flotation device! There are pool noodles everywhere! Just to be clear these are not viable devices to replace a life jacket for a struggling swimmer but rather something for strong swimmers that are required to have something! We always urge everyone to wear a life jacket at our venue! As the great Franklin D Roosevelt said "It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something."
Message from the owner, First, I want to say thank you to all of you that have enjoyed the Fugitive Beach and we hope you will continue to do so. I was a police officer for 32 years dealing with many negative and stressful situations, it gets old. We started the beach because we wanted to enjoy people and see people having fun, instead of dealing with all the negative. Yes, we want to make money also, as a Police officer you sure don’t get rich. We have done a lot of changes in the four years we have been open, trying to make it better for everyone, us, employees and you the customers. We learn something all the time and we fail from time to time., but we working on improving those failures. The new flotation device rule, it’s not perfect but it’s a start. The truth is that me and my wife have not gotten over the Kalon Green drowning from June of this year, we are still numb, I can’t imagine being the parents and family. Now we have a great young man David Jackson just a few days ago pulled from the water, who by all accounts was in good health and a good swimmer, in clam water swimming with friends. We are devastated and just cannot handle any more tragedy, so we have started the flotation device rule. I truly hate to many rules, many of the rules we have now are because of our insurance company and I don’t like them for me personally, I like to take off and have adventure, but were not talking about me. So, for my wife and my sanity and for the safety of others we have made the rule. We could not take another day of wondering will it happen today. Also, there are so many false rumors and truly cruel people that make such hateful comments, I just don’t understand. Love and people is what it’s about. The truth is I have looked in to drownings and they happen everywhere, with healthy people, strong swimmers, people with medical conditions, with life guards and no life guards, shallow water and deep water, and the list goes on. We are going to make some very good changes for next year, many ideas that I think will be exciting for everyone and to make this a great venue to have fun at. We need and apricate your support. For those of you that hate the new rule, come and try it out, there is fun to be had, but if not, I do understand, we may lose a lot of business, but truthfully, I don’t care if it makes this place safer for all. Continue to Pray for David and the Family of Kalon. God Bless and thanks. Mark Kearse
Weather Forecast for the Fugitive Beach. Saturday, August 11 & Sunday, August 12. Saturday-81 and Sunny Sunday- 79 and partly cloudy. Aloha.
Changes/New RULE at the Fugitive Beach. Please Share. The Fugitive Beach wants to make this venue fun and safe for everyone. The Fugitive Beach is a deep water venue up to 14' deep, similar to a lake. We are not a clear water venue. While we do have shallow areas (even a defined kiddie area), we have concerns for those going into the deeper waters. Starting today, everyone that goes into the deep water or off the slide and jumps must have a flotation device with them. Our current policy of Children 10 and under must wear a life jacket at all times will remain. Life Saving devices can be defined as: life jacket, life waist belt, arm floats (they make them of adults too), noodles, inner tube, etc. There can not be any exceptions. You are welcome to bring your own devices, but we do have a limited supply available for rent. Life Jackets Worn, Nobody Mourns is our RULE! Please Share!!!!!
