This November you might notice something different about our officers. This year the officers of the Rogers Police Department will participate in No-Shave November, a campaign which raises funds and awareness for cancer research and treatment. Ordinarily, we don’t participate in the event because we have a strict facial hair policy, but this year we are going to change that, let our hair down, and take part in the fun while also raising money for a good cause. During a normal No-Shave November participants let their hair grow wild and free, however we will still maintain a professional appearance and keep our beards and mustaches neat and trimmed. A sad reality is not everyone can grow a great beard, so we will be holding a contest for best and worst beard, with the winning officers will have bragging rights for the year. If you catch our officers out and about during the month of November and like their beards, take a picture with them and send it in, and I can post it on our page. All money raised by the department during this event will be given to our Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) and a donation will be made to a Rogers family whose three year old daughter is fighting a rare form of cancer.
