Mayor Tyrone Ward took the oath of office for Mayor of Robbins on May 14, 2013.
Tyrone Ward is a lifetime resident of Robbins and a former Trustee on the Village Board of Trustees. His public service life was crystallized when he founded the Lillian Bryant Ward-Spearmon Foundation,a philanthropic organization to honor his mother’s legacy. Mayor Ward has held the positions of Village Comptroller, Personnel Director, and Purchasing Agent for the Village in prior administrations.
Mayor Ward attended neighborhood schools and graduated from Dwight D. Eisenhower High School in Blue Island, IL. After operating several successful businesses, he returned to school to focus on education our youth. He currently teaches Language Arts at Kellar Middle School in Robbins, IL.
He is the brother of Morris and Maurice Spearmon (deceased), William T. Ward and Sharon Bouie.

Today marks the third and final day of our Centennial Celebration and Robbins Fest! This exciting day kicks off with the annual Back to School parade at 2 pm (12:30 line up). There will be a gospel concert after the parade on the festival grounds at 4 pm. To end this special night, there will also be a fireworks display following the gospel fest! Bring the family out today to celebrate the 100th anniversary of our beloved Village!
Today is Youth Day at the Robbins Fest!! 12 Noon to 5:30 pm. Horse & pony rides, Games, potato sack races, bouncers, Talent showcase, and Rico Michael Jackson (impersonator)! Outdoor Concert Series for the older crowd starts at 6! 😉
Today marks Day 2 of our Centennial Celebration & Robbins Fest! ADMISSION IS FREE! The festival will kick off at 12 Noon with youth activities featuring games, horse/pony rides, Bouncers, and a talent showcase featuring Rico Michael Jackson! Bring the whole family out! The outdoor concert entertainment series will continue for the adult crowd at 6 p.m. Come and check out the vendors on site, including a diversity of great food and beverages! Remember to purchase your official Centennial t-shirt on the festival grounds for only $15! Hope to see you there!

It’s that time of year again! The Annual Robbins Festival is here! The Fest starts the weekend of Friday, September 1st and runs through Sunday, September 3rd! Our 100th Year Anniversary will kick off Friday night with Stepping and House music, activities and food vendors on Saturday, finally culminating with the beloved Back To School Parade and Gospel concert on Sunday! Be sure to remind your friends and relatives as we celebrate our Centennial as one of the oldest incorporated black municipalities in the United States! Join us to celebrate our youth, our culture, and the beloved residents of the Village of Robbins! Come out and enjoy good music, entertainment, great food and FUN! ADMISSION IS FREE!
The Village of Robbins 4th Annual Walk against Violence is THIS Saturday, July 22, 2017! It is not too late to register and participate! Strollers and bikes are WELCOME! Save the Date: July 22, 2017 The Village of Robbins and YWCA Metropolitan Chicago cordially invites you and/or your organization to the 4th Annual Robbins Walk Against Violence on July 22, 2017. This is part of the Village’s collaborative efforts with YWCA Metropolitan Chicago, the largest provider of sexual violence support services in the state of Illinois; operating the Chicago Rape Crisis Hotline, providing medical and legal advocacy, outreach and prevention education, and counseling to survivors of sexual assault. Robbins Run/Walk against Violence is the first of many on-going efforts by the Village of Robbins to prevent violent crimes and support violent crime survivors. Please see the flyer below for more details of how you can participate, donate, and volunteer for this important event. Bicycles and strollers welcome! No pets or motorized vehicles permitted. Proceeds go to fund the annual Robbins Fest. This event is open to non-residents. Would you like to register? You may fill out a registration form at the Mayor's Office/Village Hall.
