Attention Canners and Home preservers! Mr. Click will be bringing in a huge load of sweet corn again this week. If you're looking to freeze or can any, here maybe one of your last chances. He will have Silver Queen as well as Honey Select. Almost all of our regular vendors will also be there with Yukon gold potatoes, beans, tomatoes, squash, okra, basil, dill and oregano, peppers, cucumbers, honey, watermelon, winter squash and gourds, egg plant, Beef, chicken, and pork. Come join Berea writer and fermentation revivalist Jereme Zimmerman as he demonstrates how to make sauerkraut and kimchi. In addition, he will discuss how to ferment cabbage, beans, carrots, peppers, and myriad other vegetables. Come with your fermentation questions! If its fermentable he's probably tried it or at least knows something about it. Fermenting vegetables through wild fermentation (the use of wild yeasts and bacteria to initiate fermentation) is a healthy, enlivening practice that will help restore the balance of beneficial microbes in your gut and introduce you to a world of new flavors!
