John O'Rourke and Anne Kurz are the owners of Oak Contracting & Design.  

John and Anne met in the beginning of 2012 on an online dating site.  It was a match made in heaven, literally.  They share a lot of the same interests, tastes and styles.  To this day, you will still see them laughing, making googly eyes at each other while holding hands.  

After working on a few projects together, the light bulb went off.... "Hmmm, why don't we start our own business?".  And so they did.

Here's a little more about their professional backgrounds...

Anne has been decorating professionally since 2003.  She has undergone rigorous training recognized by Certified Interior Decorators International with a lot of one on one training from the top professionals in the industry including the greats such as a famous design author, an ex president of ASID, and the industries window treatment guru.  

She has worked with clients in both residential and commercial industries.  They have included designing a residential bathroom window treatment to working with other designers on draperies for large name brand hotels and cruise ships.    

Each decorating project should reflect your lifestyle.  Anne uses her skills to cater to your personal style and taste.  She can easily adapt herself to decorate for multiple styles from rustic to modern.   She will never try to push her style on you.  

Anne's services include:
- Soft window fashion (draperies, valances, etc.) designs.  These include computerized window treatment ideas of your space.
- Shading systems (solar shades, blinds)
- Paint consultations
- Space planning - Includes computerized floor plans
- Design consultations

John has been a contractor / master carpenter for 30 years.  His projects include the building of large luxury homes, restoration of older homes / buildings, custom cabinetry, stone work, and making furnishings from recycled wood / furniture.  

John is a perfectionist.  The job must be done right from the beginning, the middle and to the end at clean up.  He is very proud of the work he does.  He greatest reward is the smile on his customers face then the referral that comes later on.  

Both John and Anne will work with you if you have a certain investment in mind.  They can work with you to find options to help achieve the look you want within your budget.
