16TH annual Tour of Homes

tour open houses at 4 locations to view their christmas decorations. This is our most popular fundraising event of the year. Tickets can be purchased at the museum starting at 10:00 AM for $8.00 and come with open house addresses and a map to help you on the tour.

We are currently working on our new book to be published, "Readin', Ritin', and 'Rithmetic". Currently we need more stories pertaining to your attending a rural school or public school before 1953, the consolidation of the Republic R-III School District. If your parents, grandparents or others you know attended ask them to write their experiences during this time period and mail to the historical society at 146 N Main Street, Republic, MO 65738, or if you would like someone to visit with you and write your story, please feel free to call 417-732-7702 and someone will be glad to work with you. If you have pictures of your school during this time period we would love copies for this book.

Do you like to decorate for Christmas? We are looking for homes to include on our Christmas Tour of Homes this year, in early December. Contact Kathy at 732-7634 for more information.

We need stories! If you have any stories about attending rural schools, or if your parents or grandparents attended a rural school and shared their memories with you, we have a writer on board to help write the stories up for our new book. Please contact Mary Sue Robertson at 732-7702.
