A community effort to promote breast cancer awareness. Established in 1996, Nor-Cal Think Pink is a community effort to promote breast cancer awareness. Early detection is the best defense against breast cancer – when caught and treated early; breast cancer has a 98% cure rate. Our efforts culminate every year during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October with “Think Pink Day”. The day is filled with activities to raise awareness of the importance of early detection in the fight against breast cancer. It is our hope that through advocacy and outreach education with our surrounding communities in Shasta, Siskiyou, Modoc, Tehama, Trinity and Plumas counties, women will recognize the importance of annual mammograms and monthly self breast exam.
