We are a Bean to Bar to Confection chocolate maker-chocolatier located in Raleigh, NC. Our retail shop and factory is located at 936 North Blount St. 919.832.3433 Tu.- Th. 11:00 am to 9:00 pm, Fr. - Sat. 11:00am to 10:00 pm Sunday 11:00 am to 6:00 pm We carefully source high quality cacao beans from Latin America, working directly with the farms, we travel to Costa Rica once or twice a year to visit the farm.
We then, sort the beans by hand, roast in an antique roaster, winnow and grind in an antique stone grinder, to make the chocolate. We then temper it and hand ladle it into the molds to make our bars that are later hand wrapped. From the day we start sorting until the bar is ready to be on a shelf is an 8 to 10 day process, not counting aging time and from the sorting to the wrapping, our process is completely hand done.
Our confections are made with our chocolate and local ingredients, we utilize Maple View Farm Cream, Barefoot Farms Strawberries, NC moonshine, Counter Culture Coffee... just to name a few.
Our Escazu Chocolate Bars are sold at other retail stores throughout the country.
