Sit by the water on a summer day in your own private club? The kitchen is now open during select hours. And work is in full effect on the upstairs function hall. Big things will be coming to the club in the next year. There are already amazing monthly events in the works!!! Join the Quincy Yacht Club today! For the month of April we are having a membership drive that includes half off the initiation fee. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity. For the whole month of April the membership is $560 to join. That includes the $310 yearly dues and the one time $250 initiation fee (normally $500). For the first year new members will be required to put in 25 work hours, 10 hours the years after that. Fill out an application at the QYC with a picture and check to apply. There is also an application that can be printed from this post. Don’t miss out!!!!

Anges Kenney October 14,1929-March 28, 2018 Anges Kenney, mother of members Dan and Bob Kenney, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at the age of 88. She was born in Springfield, Massachusetts then moved to Houghs Neck at an early age. After graduating high school, Agnes worked for American Airlines in New York before returning to Quincy to raise her family. She always enjoyed making connections with children as was evident through the many paths she chose throughout her life. While raising her family in Houghs Neck, she worked at the Sterling Middle School in Quincy as a cafeteria employee before transferring to Quincy High School as an attendance officer. Agnes was an active member of the Holy Trinity Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church, where she was a Eucharist Minister, CCD Teacher, Cub Scout Den Mother and Past Prefect of the Ladies’ Sodality. In her spare time, Agnes enjoyed baking, sewing, knitting hats and blankets for children, doing ceramics with friends, delivering meals for Meals On Wheels, and volunteering at the former Quincy City Hospital. The beloved wife of the late James P. Kenney, Jr., she was the loving mother of Robert Kenney and wife Cheryl of Pembroke, Daniel Kenney and his wife Karen of Quincy and the late James P. Kenney, III; dear grandmother of Shaun Kenney and wife Patricia of Arlington, VA, Jacqueline Kenney of Pembroke, Caroline and Kathleen Kenney, both of Quincy; sweet great-grandmother of Eamon Kenney of Arlington, VA; beloved sister of the late Mary Hagerty and late husband Jack of Pleasanton, CA, the late Eleanor Pimental of Quincy and the late John Pimental of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held Monday, April 2 from 4:00 to 8:00P.M. at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home, 74 Elm Street, Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Tuesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00 A.M., followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1017 Sea Street, Quincy, MA. Burial will be at the Pine Hill Cemetery. Donations in Agnes’s memory may be made to the James P. Kenney, III Scholarship Fund, c/o Quincy Credit Union, 100 Quincy Avenue, Quincy, MA 02169.
