TOMS Primetime Box Top Contest! Our last Box Top collection for this school year will be May 15th-19th. The Primetime Classroom to collect the most Tops by the end of the day on Friday, May 19th, will win an Ice Cream Party courtesy of PACT (Parents Assisting Children and Teachers). Note: Tops must be trimmed/clipped and not taped or stapled to enter. Those little Tops add up! Go LAKERS!

The TOMS 8th grade WEB student leaders are starting a campaign this week at lunch to help feed the hungry and we would love your help!. For students, WEB leaders will be in lunches encouraging kids to answer questions to earn free rice. At home, you can help out by logging in with your child’s grade level or encouraging your child to do it at home. It’s a fun, quick, educational and easy way to help the world Here’s what you do in 4 easy steps: 1. Go to Freerice.com 2. 7th Grade Life Science Students at Twin Oaks Middle School are piloting a new citizen science project the next two weeks in partnership with Mosquito Control. Students in Mrs. Clemmerson's & Mrs. Faskings class are learning how MMCD collects, tags, and identifies mosquito larva and pupa from local wetland environments. Students have been studying mosquitoes who act as vectors for carrying different diseases. Friday, May 5th MMCD will be here to demonstrate and help students practice collecting samples. Each student will get a vial to go to a wetland environment near their home to collect their own sample over the next week. The samples will then be data sent to MMCD where they will be evaluated for potential diseases.
