I have caught 7 beaver in two weeks. Three were over 40lbs, one was 40, and three were 20+lbs. the most I have ever caught is 10 in a season looks like I will beat that this year season ends at the end of March.

This month has been opossum month I have caught 3 so far, I will be setting more sets next week for skunk and wood chuck as starting Thursday I will be heading to a trapping convention until Sunday.

so this is what has been going on with Websters Wild. I have had a good amount of calls, but not that many have hired me. I have a few folks yelling at me some even dropping the f bomb at me. This one person say's to me I'm not paying anyone to remove Fn squirrels I can believe you expect me to pay to have these Fn things removed, I will just shoot the FN thins. I politely say Ok but he still continues to yell at me. many other calls are like this minus the swearing. One women says WHAT DO YOU MEAN there is a charge. I explained I'm no paid by any state agency to do this that I have to pay to obtain a license and apply for the special permit to do this., and that I have to check the traps daily so there is my time and gas. I also have to fill out a monthly reports to send to inland fishery's. She went on to say the state should be taking care of this at no cost. Well who do you think pays to have these wardens do there jobs. My self and all other folks that do any out door recreating that requires licensing. If the antis get there were it will get worse. Part of me wants to ask so do you work and if so do you do it for FREE. But that would be un-personal of me. So I just enplane how it works and say thank you for calling.

Few wood chuck calls here and there. On one job I had the traps out a week and a half and have not caught the critter I saw it in its hole the night I went over to set traps. I have 3 traps in this are but no luck I told the customer I will pull traps this Friday but if the see it again just give me a call and we will se what we can do. Not sure what is going on.

No booming so far this year but I'm getting a few calls. Caught and released a wood chuck a few weeks ago and still have a trap for a skunk. Did get a call on a beaver problem but looks like ,The Biologist is not going to let me do any thing at this time, young of the year are being born. also received another call from a repeat customer and will set this area up some time on Monday. Last but not least also received yet another call to remove some critters but once they found there was a charge they told me nope not happening. I wonder if theses folks go to work for free. LOL

Has been a bit slow but did receive a couple of calls today. One of my past costumers has a skunk and a wood chuck the needs to be removed. Also received a call on a beaver problem, I have a felling I will not be allowed by the biologist to do anything at this time with the beaver.

I had a couple of calls this week one was to relocate a skunk, in Poland) the other one was a person had to coon basking in the sun on the deck. in Minot. I got the job to relocate the skunk,but the person with coons did not think there was a charge for me to do this. So they decided not to have me do it. I have lost a few jobs because people think there is no charge or it is to much. I will not go any lower on my pricing as it is as low as I can go with out loosing money for my time and traps. All the big company's are way above what I'm making.

I caught I opossum at my clients today. Going to leave the traps for one more week just to be sure there is nothing else.

I have a few more traps set up for a critter that is digging up the lawn of one of my clients.

Well I got my first ADC call for the year today. Person has 2 skunks. I think it will be a busy year with skunks again.

Today My buddy Greg and his son Jacob went to pull all the beaver traps we had out in Mt.Vernon do to the warm weather we have had and the weather we are going to be getting. I was not able to go because I was on call for work, which I was call for a major problem. Jacob caught one very nice beaver around 50lb the rest of the traps were empty. If we loos enough ice before the season is over we will take canoes and try for more. The land owner was happy for the work we did and the effort with the conditions of the weather not being good for trapping under ice We were invited to come back next year. So this a good win for us.

My buddy Greg, his son Jacob and I Took the dogs out rabbit hunting Saturday, We took his pup and I took the pups mom and dad The Dogs did a grate job. They ran one rabbit over 45 min with very little losses. This was the best run we had all year. I had to leave my pup home because she came into heat. This was a great new spot we found. Today we went out to check our beaver traps t and set a few more. We caught one beaver today 35lb. here is a view of the area of were we have traps from on top of the hill we come in from it is a spectacular view. This is just one other reason I trap this is the stuff you don't see sitting in the house. if you click on the pics they will enlarge for a better view.
