Giuseppe's Italian Restaurant
Description
Our deli is open, the restaurant is closed for restoration. Established in 1988 / Proudly bringing San Luis Obipo County the very best in Southern Italian. ABOUT GIUSEPPE’S CUCINA ITALIANA
Giuseppe “Joe” DiFronzo founded Giuseppe’s Cucina Italiana in Pismo Beach in 1988 as a senior project upon graduation from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. This 25-year-old established eatery is known throughout the state for its dedication to true southern Italian regional specialties indicative to the Pugliese region of Italy, particularly the seaport town of Bari. Giuseppe opened an additional restaurant in late 2005 named Palazzo Giuseppe in downtown San Luis Obispo.
We are dedicated and extremely proud to bring you the freshest local and imported ingredients possible to present our cuisine in a simple, straightforward, authentic manner. We farm our own family vineyard and farm to grow Italian heirloom varietal produce such as zucchini, San Marzano “pear” tomatoes, friselle peppers, fava beans, dandelions, fennel, rapini or broccoli rabe and other varieties from our fields to your fork. Giuseppe personally farms the property organically using compost teas and old-school farming practices brought from Italy.
We are proud to say we make from scratch daily, in house, our breads, pizza dough, raviolis, gnocchi, gelato, stocks and all of our mother sauces with a truly unique focus on vertically controlling and producing the predominance of all our products. Giuseppe’s daughter, Michella oversees our artisan gelato program that utilizes our fresh fruits picked from our farm. We are especially proud of sourcing our seafood from as many local sources as possible.
On behalf of Giuseppe, his family and the entire staff, we sincerely thank you for your patronage.
