Facebook is celebrating its 12th birthday today by celebrating "Friends Day". We want to celebrate our friends as well! These are siamang gibbons Boyd and Haddie. You can find them on an island along the Nina Mason Pulliam Children's Trail here at the Zoo. They’ve been together for almost a year now and are great friends! And like any good friend, a helping hand to be sure you look your best is always appreciated! Here, you can see Haddie grooming Boyd. Like most primates, one of the most important social activities for a siamang is grooming.Their morning concert of amazing vocalization is a sound you won't soon forget. Do you have photos of some of our Zoo friends? Post them here! Or, tag your friends today and share what makes your friendship special! Thanks to WJ Wheaton for another amazing photo.

Baby it's cold outside! Our thick-billed parrots on the Arizona Trail thought winter was over, but WJ Wheaton found them keeping warm huddling together and enjoying the heat from their heat lamp. Thick-billed parrots are the only surviving species of parrot which originated in the United States. They used to be in Southern Arizona but are now found only in forest regions of Mexico. Thanks WJ for the great photo!
