Description
The Arizona Builders Alliance exists for the purpose of advancing the productivity and profitability of our members and the construction industry in AZ. The Arizona Builders Alliance represents more than 250 companies and their employees from general contractors, subcontractors, professional service firms and suppliers to merit shop and union companies supporting the construction industry.
ABA is an alliance of the Arizona Chapters of the Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC), and the Building Chapter Associated General Contractors (AGC).
Established in 1994, ABC & AGC merged to form the Arizona Builders Alliance to serve the entire construction industry with management education, government relations and apprentice/craft training.
Our members have access to a nationwide network of construction industry professionals, owners, builders, publications and services to enhance their visibility and profitability.

The ABA Hosted it's first day of the 80-hour Project Manager Development Program at Hensel Phelps Construction. Sr. Estimator, Jerry Boat, cooridinated speakers who presented in 2-hour increments, including: Brian Earnst, Hensel Phelps Construction Craig Johnson, Hensel Phelps Construction Kevin Somerville, Buesing Corporation The PMDP curriculum was developed by AGC of America Education and Research Foundation. PMDP is a nationally recognized training standard. Individuals who complete all five PMDP courses will receive an AGC Project Manager Development Program Certificate of Completion. ABA's Lean Unit 6 Class
Held on Friday, January 15th, Sundt Construction, Inc.'s offices, Instructor Jeff Esgar, the Lean Unit 6 Class: Lean Design & Pre-Construction. The ABA's Lean Construction program is a 7-unit series developed by the Associated General Contractors of America, culminnates in a final exam where participants can earn their Construction Management - Lean Construction (CM-LC) Certification.
ABA's 2016 Finance in Construction Class
Held at DPR Construction''s offices Thursday, the 14th, the ABA's Finance in Construction Seminar, was well attended by both ABA Members and Non-Members. Created and taught by John Murdough, Henry & Horne, LLP, with the assistance of Mike Specht & Debby Anderson, Minard-Ames Insurance Services, the class always provides a wealth of information, education, and fun for attendees.
ABA's 2016 LDF Class Began Friday, the 8th
The ABA welcomed 38 new participants to the Leadership Development Forum for 2016. The first class was held, Friday, Jan. 8 and focused on personality assessments, how to get along and communicate with the other personalities, and generally severely broke the ice between all the participants. The day was fun and full of energy. This year's class is made up of PM's, Estimators, Superintendents, Business Development Folks, Precon Mngrs, and a handful of affiliate members. Participants come from ABA Member Companies including General Contractors, Subcontractors, and Professional Service Companies. This year's class also has at least 5 participants that will drive up from Tucson every month for the class.
