"The best kept secret in Phenix City" "Results, not Excuses" The American Legion charted by Congress on September 19, 1919,  believes national security must be maintained to fulfill the mandate for a strong national defense. As stated in the Preamble, “FOR GOD AND COUNTRY WE ASSOCIATE OURSELVES TOGETHER FOR THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES: To uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America... To safeguard and transmit to posterity the principles of justice, freedom and democracy.”

The Legion is an organization of veterans who fought for our freedoms, which they are dedicated to keeping and preserving. As one of the Four Pillars it was founded on, the Legion believes national security is upheld by keeping a well-funded Department of Defense, a good quality of life for troops and a sensible transition between service and separation.

Had a successful Halloween Party, approx 80-85 people dhow up for fun and games. Was a great party but thanks go out to all of our volunteers. I won't try to name them because I will miss a few so that not to offend anyone I'll just say "Atta Boy" to all that assisted. On another note but related to volunteering I am posting an article from a magazine Ann brought back from down 'n the country, The Body of an Organization has Four Bones; Wish Bones, who spend all their time wishing someone else will do the job for them, Jaw Bones, who do all the talking and very little else, Knuckle Bones, who knock everything that everyone else tries to do and the Back Bone who get under the load and do all the work. So what BONE are you? Just a thought.....
