Russian Ensemble returns to Petaluma For over ten years, the St. Petersburg Russian Men’s Ensemble has visited Northern California in the spring, bringing us the music and culture of Russia. The acapella quartet performs liturgical, classical and folk music of the highest caliber. This year, they are performing on Friday, May 26 at Elim Lutheran Church, 504 Baker Street in Petaluma at 7:30pm. There is no admission charge, but donations will be accepted. For the classical portion of the show, the men dress formally, but for the folk section, they change into traditional Russian tunics. Many of the listeners come year after year to hear songs they have come to love and new music that the ensemble has chosen for the season.
