We are excited and honored to welcome our new principal, Kristen Danley, to our Sherwood Team!! Mrs. Danley was officially announced as our principal at last night's Escambia County School Board Meeting.
Dear Parents, After six years as principal of Sherwood Elementary, I must announce the end of my tenure here. Effective, July 1st, I will be the principal of N.B. Cook Elementary. I have enjoyed my time here immensely and have loved getting to know your children and you over the years. Thank you for many great memories. Sherwood will always hold a very special place in my heart. Sherwood's new principal will be Mrs. Kristen Danley. Please give her a warm welcome and the same support and cooperation you have given to me over the years. Mrs. Tindell and Mr. Vaughn will be remaining at Sherwood, rounding out Sherwood's administrative team. Thanks again for your support over the years! With warm memories, Mr. Larry Knight
Our fifth graders had a wonderful time on their trip to Panama City. Lots of great memories!
During Teacher Appreciation Week, we also honor our support staff, such as our amazing secretary, Debbie Brown. Ms. Brown has worked at Sherwood for 27 years, which is longer than anyone else currently working at our school. She works tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure our school runs smoothly and is always willing to assist in any way. Ms. Brown is representative of the caliber of our dedicated support team at Sherwood. We appreciate each and every one of our support team and know that we couldn't do what we do without them!
In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, we want to recognize again our Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Wolter, a passionate and exemplary educator. While Mrs. Wolter is at home right now, enjoying time with her husband and newborn son, Mason, she is still planning lessons and preparing resources for her students. Mrs. Wolter is just one example of the dedication of faculty and staff that make up our Sherwood Team!
What a beautiful day for reading outside! Our "resident" sub, Ms. Byrd, took advantage of all this sunshine by taking Ms. McQueen's class out to read, take A.R. Tests, and work with a partner on a comprehension assignment.
