Labette Community College has served students with educational excellence and has been an active and integral member of the community since 1923. The College provides the deep roots and expansive wings that students need to accomplish great things in their lives and chosen professions.

LCC offers over 50 academic programs with classes during the day, evening and online while boasting 15 student clubs and holding 4 National  athletic championship titles and two campus locations. The main campus location in Parsons, Kansas and the Cherokee Center, a smaller satellite campus located about thirty miles east near Pittsburg, Kansas.

Labette Community College Phi Beta Lambda students attended the Kansas State Conference, March 3-4 at Sterling College in Sterling, Kansas. They earned spots as top finishers, securing a trip to compete at the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, CA in June. Phi Beta Lambda is a business organization for two and four year colleges. LCC students competed in several categories finishing in the top three to ensure their spot at the National Leadership Conference: Lindsey Drummond: 3rd Place in Accounting Principles & Computer Applications Josh Ghering: 1st Place Integrated Marketing Campaign 2nd Place Entrepreneurship Concepts 3rd Place Business Decision Making Future Business Executive Organizational Behavior & Leadership Chandler Gravett: 1st Place Impromptu Speaking 2nd Place Justice Administration Michelle Green: 1st Place Personal Finance 3rd Place Business Communication Business Decision Making Client Service Bonnie Howell: 1st Place Integrated Marketing Campaign 2nd Place Help Desk 3rd Place Business Decision Making Ben Lotterer: 2nd Place Accounting Principles Microeconomics 3rd Place Retail Management Who’s Who in Kansas Phi Beta Lambda recipients were: Josh Ghering and Bonnie Howell.

The Labette Community College Tau Theta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa traveled to Wichita, Kansas March 3-5th for the Kansas-Nebraska Region Convention. The LCC Tau Theta Chapter returned to Parsons as the ‘Most Outstanding Chapter’ in the Region. There are 46 chapters in the Kansas-Nebraska region. The Tau Theta Chapter earned the following awards: Most Outstanding Chapter College Project Award – 1st Place Honors in Action Award – 1st Place Service Award – 3rd Place Sister Chapter Award – 1st Place Five Star Chapter Award Distinguished Chapter Officer Team – 2nd Place for Megan Thompson, Sydney Pemberton, Abigail Dominguez, and Kelsie Coltrane Distinguished Chapter Officer Award – 3rd Place for Abigail Dominguez and Honorable Mention for Megan Thompson Continued Excellence In Advising Award – 2nd Place for Tammy Fuentez Distinguished College President Award – Dr. Knox Five Star Member Awards for Abigail Dominguez and Kelsie Coltrane Nicole Smith was elected as Vice President of Public Relations for the Kansas/Nebraska Region. The Tau Theta chapter will travel to Nashville, Tennessee on April 4-9 for the PTK International Convention.
