Parkville-Carney Branch Library - Like the BCPL system page for more information: https://www.facebook.com/bcplonline From 1943 to 1952, the Parkville community hosted an independent library at 8904 Harford Road and subsequently in the basement of St Ursula's Church. When that library closed, BCPL began providing library service to the community via bookmobile.
On July 6, 1961 the Parkville Branch opened in rented quarters at 9221 Harford Road. In January of 1971, the Parkville-Carney Branch opened in its current building at 9509 Harford Road. The branch was renamed the "Parkville-Carney Branch" at this time after an appeal by residents of Carney to show that both communities were served by the facility.
