The Paragould Police Department has been serving our citizens with pride since 1908.  We are here to serve and protect the citizens of our fine city. The Paragould Police Department currently has 46 sworn police officers and 10 civilians, for a total of 56 employees protecting and serving "The Friendly City" of Paragould. The current officer employee breakdown is: two D.A.R.E. officers, one school resource officer, one traffic enforcement officer, six criminal investigators, including two members of a specialized Street Crimes Unit, a K-9 and handler, 32 patrol officers, and four administrative officers including the Chief of Police.

Our civilian employees include six dispatchers, two data entry clerks, one criminal investigations secretary/coordinator, and one code enforcement officer. The Paragould PD Dispatch Center is the E-911 Primary Public Safety Answering Point (P.S.A.P.) for all of Greene County, Arkansas and actively encourages all residents to create and maintain a Smart 911 profile to assist all Greene County Emergency Services in providing the best possible protection and assistance.

The Paragould Police Department has 17 patrol units with laptop computers that are linked to the Arkansas Crime and Information Center database and the local Computer Aided Dispatch and Reporting system utilized by the Police Department.

As a reminder, sanitation pickup in the city of Paragould will be altered this week. If your trash is picked up on Tuesday, your pickup will occur on Monday, July 3rd. The remainder of the pickup days will be normal schedule. Feel free to share!

E911 Dispatcher Job Opportunities The City of Paragould is currently accepting applications for the position of E911 Dispatcher in the Paragould Police Department. Must be available to work any shift. Applicants must meet the following requirements: -Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent with specialized course work in general office practices such as typing, filing, accounting or bookkeeping. -Two (2) years of increasingly responsible related experience, or any equivalent combination of related education and experience. -Minimum age of 18. -No felony and/or class A misdemeanor convictions. -Successful completion of background investigation. -The City will require a medical examination and drug screen after an offer of employment has been made to a job applicant and prior to the commencement of the employment duties of such applicant and will condition an offer of employment on the results of such examination. -Certificate on ACIC Terminal Operations (obtain within first six months of employment). Applications may be printed from the Human Resources web page or picked up from City Hall located at 301 W. Court St. Applications may be returned to the Human Resources office Monday thru Friday from 8:30am to 4:00pm. When returning completed applications, a résumé must be attached. **Cancelled** Mrs. Napier has been found safe and family is currently enroute to pick her up. A Silver Alert has been activated for Scotta Napier. Mrs. Napier was last seen at approximately 4:00 pm on Wednesday, June 21st here in Paragould. She was driving a 2002 GMC Sierra regular cab pickup truck bearing Arkansas disabled license plate number 301746. Mrs. Napier could have possibly been enroute to the Bono area of Craighead County. If contact is made with Mrs. Napier, contact the Paragould Police Department at 870-236-7621, the Arkansas State Police at 879-935-7302, or your local law enforcement agency.

Public Service Announcement: There will be no fishing allowed tonight, and until the fishing rodeo is completed tomorrow, at Reynold's Lake. If you have kiddos and are looking for something to do tomorrow, the city parks department does an outstanding job with this rodeo. There will be door prizes and a hot dog lunch involved for the kids as well.
