Available Tuesday February 6th at 11Am, these gorgeous fluffy Siberian Husky/German Shepherd Dog puppies will be available to the public for adoption into their forever home. Their very sweet purebred Siberian Husky momma came into the shelter as a stray; a week later gave birth to a healthy litter of 6 puppies. Soon after their short stay at the shelter, they were taken into a wonderful foster home. They have received their first puppy vaccines and deworming. After adoption, and in a few months when they're old enough, they will be spayed/neutered through the shelter.

The Town of Paradise Public Works Department will begin the annual roadside herbicide application starting February 6, 2018. This work is taking place about one month earlier than typical years due to the unseasonably warm and dry weather we are currently experiencing. Performing this work while weeds are still low in growth reduces the fire danger for the upcoming summer while keeping drainage ditches clear to prevent future flooding. The spraying will consist of critical road shoulders, drainage ditches, as well as spot spraying the poison oak and invasive broom species. A listing of roads to be treated is provided below. Bille Road Buschmann Road Clark Road Elliott Road Foster Road Honey Run Road Neal Road North Libby Road Nunneley Road Oliver Road Pearson Road Pentz Road Sawmill Road Skyway South Libby Road Trailway Valley View Drive Wagstaff Road Wayland Road If residents would prefer to not have roadway edge sprayed adjacent to their property, please sign up for a “no spray” agreement online at the following website: http://www.townofparadise.com/index.php/topaccess. Residents may also contact the Town Clerk’s office at (530) 872-6291 x102 to arrange for a “no-spray” agreement. We request a contact name, address and phone number for our files and that the resident manually keep the weeds and invasive species cleared. Residents who have already completed a “no-spray” agreement do not need to resubmit each year. Trained and licensed operators will do all spraying in strict compliance with the Butte County Agricultural Commissioner requirements and the manufacturer’s recommendations. Most treated areas will have a six to eight foot wide band of herbicide applied (from the edge of pavement outward). This treatment reduces the amount of weeds and vegetation alongside the roadway edges and will greatly reduce the chance of carelessly thrown cigarettes causing a wildland fire later this summer. We do not anticipate any traffic delays. Spraying operations will be performed with a marked Town of Paradise pickup truck and a 300-gallon pull spray tank. If motorists encounter the spraying operations, please stay back a reasonable distance. The operators will pull off the roadway and allow the motorists to pass at the first convenient location.
TRAFFIC ALERT FOR 02/02/18: On February 2, 2018, Bear Electrical Solutions will be performing traffic signal repairs at the intersection of Skyway at Neal Road. Their work will require the signal to be placed into red-flash (ALL-WAY STOP) mode between 8:00AM through early afternoon. Motorists are advised to use caution through the intersection while repairs are being made.
Engine E81 now in service--Thank you Measure C...Thank you citizens of Paradise! Town of Paradise Public Works crews are installing a new all-way stop sign at the intersection of Elliott Road and Oakmore Drive, about ¼ mile west of the Skyway and Elliott Road intersection. The installation is being made following completion of a Stop Warrant Analysis which concluded based on existing conditions of the horizontal and vertical curves, prevailing speeds, collision data, and community input that an all-way STOP is appropriate to reduce the frequency of roadway departure collisions at this near-90 degree (10 MPH) curve. Crews have closed Elliott Road between Pine View Way and Valstream Drive while this work takes place. All work is expected to be complete today. When complete, motorists will notice new “stop” signs, “stop ahead” signs with temporary orange flags in addition to standard roadway markings including “stop” legends and stop limit lines. Residents who use this lower volume roadway are advised to use caution in the area and comply with all regulatory signs and markings.

FYI - Reported that traffic is still congested in fire area--take alternate routes. Comcast is working on the lines. The internet is still down at the post office---only post office boxes and parcel pick up is available. This is a busy time of year and there is only one driveway open at the post office. Other options would be postnet or UPS store or Magalia post office.
