Check engine light on with EVAP leaks can be tricky and require special equipment sometimes. Fixes can range from a simple loose gas cap to old crack hoses or sometimes EVAP solenoids used for the system to function properly. The EVAP system's function is to keep harmful gas fumes in the gasoline tank from reaching the atmosphere. This keeps air pollution down, and keeps the smell of fuel from reaching the inside of your vehicle.
