USS Razorback Submarine
Description
USS Razorback (SS 394) submarine served the United States Navy and the Turkish Navy from 1944-2001. Now she is on display in North Little Rock, Arkansas. USS Razorback (SS 394) submarine served the United States Navy from 1944-1970, serving during World War II, the Cold War, and the Vietnam War. The submarine was then sold to the Turkish Navy and served from 1970-2001, making her one of the longest serving submarines in the world. Now visitors can board the submarine for a guided tour, birthday party, or even an overnight stay at the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

USS Razorback crew members enjoying their time listening to the submarine's number one engine start up during their reunion.
Last week the crew members of USS Razorback were in town for their reunion. The work of our staff member, Joseph Mathis, and our crew members Bobby, Mel, and Ron (to name a few), the engine was able to run for some of the crew who hasn't heard the engines in over 40 to 50 years. Good job to all who worked on these engines!

CSS Hunley was the first submarine to successfully sink an enemy vessel. Now we know more about what happened to the crew that caused the submarine and its crew to perish.
Roger Lyle was inducted into the Holland Club today. Roger began his submarine service 50 years ago aboard USS Razorback. Thank you USSVI Razorback Base for the lovely ceremony.
