Bug was up walking (with support) less than 24 hours after Dr. Pond did TPLO surgery on BOTH of her knees. Thanks to his use of a NEW pain medication called NOCITA®, an extended-release medication, it helps better manage post-operative pain in dogs who have had cranial cruciate ligament surgery. Nocita is a long-acting, local anesthetic that lasts up to 72 hours post-surgery by releasing the medication over time. LESS pain means FASTER recovery times!! ♥️GET WELL SOON BUG♥️

Central Hospital continued its assistance with the CT DEEP Bobcat Project today when a bobcat was trapped in a nearby yard in North Haven. He was given a sedative and Vicki Landau, one of our senior technicians with advanced experience in dental work, went there to assist in the extraction of a small tooth. This is the best way to determine the cats age. They also collect fur samples and a whisker for other types of analysis. This big boy was very healthy and weighed in at 32 pounds. DEEP fitted him with a tracking collar so they can monitor and gain an understanding of his habitat usage and home range. We are honored to be part of this important initiative to learn more about these beautiful animals and how best to protect them as their populations continue to grow in our state. You can read more about the Bobcat project and report your own sightings at the DEEP website. https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/ct-bobcat-project

We were honored to be there when one of our patients crossed off one of his Bucket List items!! Arlo was born with a heart defect and was only expected to live a couple months. But thanks to his loving family, the Hamden Police Department and his bucket list ... he became an honorary K-9 officer today!!
