Pet Central Helps! Works to assist pets and people in order to keep them together. We also work to rescue animals in danger of euthanasia from shelters. Pet Central Helps! Is an exciting, new, progressive animal rescue serving Central Illinois, with its primary location in Normal, Illinois. Right now we are operating from a temporary administrative location,
and using foster homes.(Permanent physical location opens Fall 2017). Visit us at www.petcentralhelps.org
Our motto is: Keeping pets and people together.
We focus on a non-judgemental approach that follows the three E’s; Educate - Encourage - Enable through our interactions with the public.
Pet Central’s Target 20 Programs will be implemented in a staged approach as funds obtained through adoptions, donations, and grants become available. Pet Central Helps! will be a convenient, comprehensive community center that assists animals in need and thus benefits our community as a whole.
Pet Central believes that keeping people and pets together, whenever it is possible and appropriate to do so, should be a priority for the animal welfare community and for society as a whole. To achieve this goal, we must put aside preconceived notions and treat people with respect and dignity whatever their financial or other life circumstances. We must support laws and policies that strengthen and support rather than break the bond between people and their animal companions. And perhaps most importantly, we must all work together; human and animal service agencies, pet owners, veterinarians, landlords, and policy makers; to ensure that pets and their people continue to live together; safe, secure, happy, and a vital part of the community.
Pet Central will set an example based on this position statement in order to bring about positive change within our community.
Pet Central believes that pets and people belong together; that financial circumstances alone are not reliable indicators of the capacity to love and care for a companion animal, and that strong bonds between people and pets make for stronger communities.
Our ultimate goal is to reach companion animals and their people, especially in underserved communities, using a comprehensive grassroots approach to sharing pet wellness information, resources, and services. These components need to be centralized, with convenient access.
Pets are companions, and because humans make decisions for them, reaching out to their owners in an effective, non-judgemental and genuine manner must be part of the solution to reducing animal suffering.

Today's Pet Central Helps' Dog of the Day is Petey! Petey is a 5 month old, 20 pound Mastiff Mix. He is great on a leash, awesome and patient with kids, and loves to give gentle hugs. Skipper is our office cat. We are on the edge of a big field, so of course critters want to keep warm and try to come inside this time of year. Not on her watch!!!

Good morning friends! It's #givingtuesday! Pet Central is featuring our veterinary medical fund today because we have so many pets in need. Here are just a few: Beautiful German Shepherd "Snowy" is on her way to oncology at the University of Illinois today. This three year old beauty was discovered to have multiple mammary tumors. Fey, or "Ginger" as she has been nicknamed by her foster family, has a rare congenital defect of the esophagus that causes her to regurgitate her food (She also injured a rear leg). The complex surgery to help her is over $3000. "Elvira" is fighting demodectic mange and other skin issues. She was under two pounds when we pulled her from a kill shelter and is being treated and receiving much TLC. These are just a few of the cases we are working on now. We are hoping you will find it in your heart to give whatever you can afford in order to bring our pets in need back to health.
