Job Opening Administrative Manager for Marketing Niles District Library is seeking a knowledgeable individual to manage all aspects of our marketing. The Administrative Manager is responsible for maintaining up-to-date information on our website; using social media to promote library services and programs, creating the library’s newsletter, press releases and other marketing materials. We want our marketing materials to reflect the library’s values and culture; we are a governmental institution that values professionalism, personal growth, education, community engagement, creativity and fun. This Administrative Manager is part of our three-person Administrative Team; he/she reports to the Director. Because we are a small team, we each do a wide variety of work. Marketing will make up about two-thirds of this Administrative Manager’s workload. This Administrative Manager also needs strong technical skills as he/she will work closely with contractors and vendors to develop the library’s use of technology and maintain the library’s equipment. You don’t need to know how to configure a router, design a network or install a new video card, but you do need to be able to work with a vendor to discuss the library’s needs and assess the options presented. The selected candidate will also have the opportunity to work on several new initiatives of the library, such as our soon-to-be unveiled community calendar. Our busy library won the 2015 Michigan State Librarian’s Excellence Award. We provide access and guidance to resources that inform, entertain and enrich. We are committed to building a community of lifelong learners who want to make Niles their lifelong home. Applicants should have two years of relevant work experience or a bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field. Preferred candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field and two years of work experience. This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week) with excellent benefits including paid vacation, sick leave, health insurance, life insurance and defined benefit retirement plan. Starting hourly range is $12.75—$14.25 depending on qualifications and experience. To apply, send resume, cover letter and two or three examples of (or links to) marketing materials you have created to jobs@nileslibrary.net. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. http://www.nileslibrary.com/uncategorized/job-opening-2/
