As of 2016, Newington Bicycle Shop will have served Newington and the surrounding communities for over 40 years. And we're still going strong. Many of our customers remember buying their first bikes from our shop - and from some of our employees. The shop isn't just a community landmark, it is also a wealth of experience and information. Put together the shop staff has thousands upon thousands of miles of cycling experience.
When you walk into our shop you will talk to a roadie, a mountain biker, a commuter, a triathlete - or all of the above. We're in this business because we're passionate about riding and our own diverse experiences in cycling mean that we can help find the perfect bike for you!
We're actively trying to promote Women's Cycling and were excited to introduce our Women's Cycling Initiative in 2016. After a successful inaugural year with women's specific rides, events and clinics we look forward to continuing our women's program in 2017!

I was having a debate on what my last tri was going to be before Maine 70.3. I was torn between Niantic Bay and Boston. There was pros and cons to both, but my coach convinced me that Boston Tri was the right choice since it gave me more time before Maine. As always, better late than never….. Back on July 14th my brother, Jacob (his good friend), and I all made the trek up to Albany, New York. We left after I got out of work, so it was later than we all wanted to leave, but that’s life. On our way up we stopped at Panera and spent more money than you could imagine on dinner. How do you ride? We get lots of people in looking for mountain bikes, but not all mountain bikes are equal or ride the same. We're lucky to partner with @trekbikes to offer two great options for hardtail riders: Trek X-Caliber if you're the XC type or the Trek Roscoe 27.5 Plus option if you fall under the trail category. For my July race I had to make a decision between heading up to Xterra Skyhigh in New York or tackling the Litchfield Hills Olympic on-road race. Litchfield seems to be a local favorite -- one of those races that everyone and their mother has done. Since I hadn't done it yet I was feeling a little FOMO . So even though in my mind the dirt *almost* always wins after a conversation with my coach I decided to get my tri bike off the trainer and see if I remembered how to ride on the road.
