Mount St. Peter parishioner Kyle Collamer received the Pope Pius XII Emblem during the Annual Scout Convocation Mass at the St. Joseph Chapel at the Bishop Connare Center in Greensburg Sunday afternoon. Bishop Malesic awarded the Scout emblems to candidates from around the diocese. Kyle is in Troop 205 and attended the event with his father, Ben Collamer, whom you remember received sacraments of initiation at Easter Vigil.

St. Anthony Novena starts at 7 p.m. each Tuesday at Mount Saint Peter Parish through and including the saint's feast day, June 13. A novena, St. Anthony Guild officer installation and reception is set for June 6; a closing Mass with the last novena and blessed bread distribution is set for June 13.

It’s off to summer camp for Mount St. Peter’s seminarian Chris Pujol! Bishop Malesic has made the seminarians’ summer pastoral appointments, and Chris is heading to the Eberly Scout Reservation, near Somerset. It’s a camp where Boy Scout troops gather for camping and retreats. Father E. George Saletrik, chaplain for the Scout troops within the Diocese of Greensburg, will be his supervisor. Father George also is pastor of Church of the Resurrection in Clymer, Indiana County. This summer, Mount St. Peter will be getting seminarian Mark Dunmire. Msgr. Michael will be supervising him. Be sure to welcome him if you see him around!! Mark is a parishioner at St. Margaret Mary Parish. He is a graduate of Burrell High School, and a 2007 graduate of Robert Morris University. Mark has been attending St. Mary's Seminary in Baltimore, Maryland, as a part of his formation in order to become a priest.

Today is the world day of prayer for Vocations. May we all continue to prayer for men and women to answer the call of the Lord in their lives and respond to His invitation to come and follow Him - especially in the priesthood and religious life. This day please say an extra prayer for our Pastor Msgr. Begolly, for our faithful Sister Susan Jenny S.C., and for all our diocesan seminarians including our own parish son Chris Pujol. Youth Group has decked the town with Peace Camp posters. Go see them at Better Block today until 6. Stop in for lunch or coffee at Knead until 2.

Today, MSP Youth Group will hang Peace Camp posters that MQA students and Faith First students made to publicize the camp, which runs June 26 to 30 for kids in grades 2 through 8. Youth are hanging posters in downtown New Kensington as part of the Better Block event. Head downtown to look for the posters and partake in the food and festivities of the local businesses and the New Ken Art Center. Better Block runs throughout this afternoon.
