http://ipaltheater.eventbrite.com/ The Iberia Performing Arts League, also known as IPAL, is a community theater organization based in New Iberia, Louisiana. Its mission is to promote live theater in New Iberia and to enhance the community. It generally offers five major productions per season, a summer youth play or activity, and occasionally other special activities.

IPAL depends on our community to stay alive. If you want to get involved we suggest volunteering. There are many jobs involved in theater other than acting! Backstage crew, costumers, make-up artists, and light and sound crews all make a show go! Our performances are well executed and a great way to spend an evening. Season tickets are available. Our plays are at the historic Essanee theater in beautiful downtown New Iberia.

As a Community Theater, we are always glad to have sponsors, donors and other financial help. This year we are Supported in part by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation & Tourism, in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council, Funding has also been provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, a Federal agency."

Hello there, everyone! It’s that time again! We are here to introduce you to another one of our incredible “Barefoot in the Park” cast members! Introducing Kevin Judice in the role of Victor Velasco! Here’s what Kevin has to say about playing Victor: “The thing I like most about my character, Mr. Victor Velasco, is that he lives in the moment. He doesn’t worry about tomorrow’s problems because he is too busy living in the here and now, enjoying whatever situation he finds himself in at the present time. He is the epitome of the adage “Don’t sweat the small stuff!” and for Victor Velasco, it’s all small stuff. He is at home and completely comfortable in any environment; high balls at high end cocktail parties with famous movie directors or Uzu in the Albanian restaurant with the wait staff! For Victor...he counts it all as joy!” Trust us, folks..you do NOT want to miss Kevin in this role!! Be sure to get your tickets for this remarkable and exciting production, which runs May 31st-June 10th!

I’m sure many of you are getting ready to enjoy the “Symphony in the Park,” though if you aren’t the Corie Bratter’s of the world, you may not be doing it Barefoot in this chilly weather! We are going to be bringing you all some fun facts and Barefoot in the Park trivia each week leading up to opening night, so here we go! *When actor Robert Redford was offered the lead male role in the film, he was surprised. Redford had played the part on Broadway and did not like the idea of repeating himself.
