St. Mary Parish Sheriff Deputy Jerry Duval was laid to rest at Morgan City Cemetery today. Duval served 27 years in law enforcement. Law enforcement agencies led a procession in his honor. More tonight on KWBJ News.

Traffic advisory: A 40,000-ton truck crane is stalled in the right lane of U.S. 90 Eastbound at Thorguson Road in Berwick. Traffic delays are reported. A device is en route from Houma to remove the crane from the roadway. Motorists are advised to use caution when approaching the area.

Casey Crappell of Berwick was recommended and approved to fill the vacant District 6 seat on the St. Mary Parish Council. Crappell will serve in the position as an interim council member until a special election in October.

On March 22, St. Mary Parish President David Hanagriff offered Pam Washington a key to the parish for her interim service (District 10 at Large) as the recommended replacement for Steve Bierhorst, who resigned as a result of health reasons. Washington served in the position until a special election was called. Gabriel Beadle won the seat.
