Our next 2016 maid, Miss Maggie Martin shared her favorite part about the festival: " My favorite part is finding out the history of our city. It is so unique and amazing. It's shows where our city came from and honors all the people who helped build our city up to what it is now. From the blessing of the fleet and mass in the park, I love the history that the Shrimp and Petroleum Festival honors!" #MaidSearch2017

Miss Megan Landry's favorite part about the festival: " [There are] so many to choose from! I LOVE the ball and being able to dance the night away with so many of my best friends, but I also LOVE the food. How can I possibly live without having shrimp 7 different ways in one weekend? I also LOVE how the festival brings so many of the people I love together. I always can't wait to reunite with my old classmates and family friends who I've haven't seen in a while!" #MaidSearch2017

Miss Mary Giroir on her maid experience: “Being a maid for the Shrimp & Petroleum Festival was truly a magnificent experience. As a maid you get to enjoy the festival that everyone in this town has grown to love in a completely different perspective. The entire involvement is something that I will never forget, you are exposed to many different things, that personally I did not even realize went on during festival weekend, and meet so many friendly, new faces. For those not even hoping to become the 82nd queen I would definitely recommend applying, even if it is just for the experience.” #MaidSearch2017

Our next maid on her experience, Miss Paige Thomas. “My favorite part of being a maid was experiencing the festival in a new way, and becoming friends with the other maids.
