The Fatima Prayer…Did you know? During the July 13th appearance, Mary showed the children a vision of Hell and told themd them, "Pray, pray very much because many souls go to Hell." Then Mary expressly asked for “the Fatima prayer” to be recited. She said, "Each time you say the Rosary, My children, say after each decade, 'O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy'."

Today is the feast day of Edith Stein, also known as St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross. She was a German Jewish philosopher who converted to the Roman Catholic Church and became a Discalced Carmelite nun. She was arrested by the SS in August 1942, imprisoned at Auschwitz. She was offered an escape plan by a Dutch official but she vehemently denied his assistance, stating, “If somebody intervened at this point and took away the chance to share in the fate of her brothers and sisters, that would be utter annihilation.” On August 9, 1942 Sr. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross was killed in a mass gas chamber. She is a martyr and saint of the Catholic Church.
